Milan confirms itself as a strategic hub for international retail and welcomes the European debut of Cotopaxi, a brand of travel accessories and outdoor clothing inspired by one of the world’s highest active volcanoes in the Andes of Ecuador. The brand chooses Milan’s Central Station to inaugurate its first pop-up store in Europe, consolidating the city’s role as a privileged gateway for global brands. Located on the Binari Floor, in the Mosaic Gallery, the pop-up will be open from March 3 to April 4, 2026, every day from 8 am to 9 pm. A high-traffic location that intercepts travelers, commuters, and contemporary lifestyle enthusiasts, in line with the brand’s DNA. The opening represents a significant step for Cotopaxi, bringing to Italy its vision of “Gear for Good”: products designed to last over time, with a positive impact on the planet and communities.
From the Andes to the European market
The name Cotopaxi comes from the homonymous Ecuadorian province, a place linked to the founder’s personal history and a source of inspiration for a company born with a specific mission: to do business by generating social value. Today the brand is recognized globally for its ability to combine distinctive design, functionality, and sustainability. The arrival in Milan marks the beginning of a direct dialogue with the European public, increasingly attentive to environmental issues and the quality of outdoor products. The pop-up store is designed as an experiential space to tell the brand’s identity: vibrant colors, versatile collections, and a narrative focused on responsible adventure. On display is a selection of products that reflect the evolution of Cotopaxi, developed by listening to the needs of the contemporary traveler. Among the distinctive elements: use of recycled and deadstock materials, iconic collections like Del DÃa, made 100% from recovery fabrics, and functional design designed for travel and outdoor activities.
Responsibility and impact
Founded in 2014, Cotopaxi is now a certified B Corporation, committed to respecting high social and environmental standards. The company allocates 1% of its revenue each year to the Cotopaxi Foundation, supporting projects against poverty, with a focus on health, education, and economic development in Latin America. Environmental commitment translates into concrete goals: 42% reduction in direct emissions by 2030, 90% reduction in indirect emissions by 2045, increasing use of sustainable materials, already present in 96% of products. At the same time, the brand promotes a transparent supply chain and fair working conditions, collaborating with certified suppliers and supporting social initiatives in production territories.
