Salomon has released its 2024 Impact Report, the third annual deep dive into its global sustainability strategy. This edition reflects another year of progress in the brand’s transformation towards a more responsible outdoor and sportswear industry.
Nearly a decade after launching its first sustainability strategy, the 2024 Report evaluates progress on Salomon’s environmental and social commitments, with a particular focus on product circularity, community engagement, and industry collaborations. It also outlines how the “Change Our Future” strategy continues to guide Salomon’s long-term vision, with new initiatives helping to extend product lifecycles and accelerate the shift toward circular business models.
“Our strategy aims to position Salomon as a modern mountain sports lifestyle brand—inclusive, sustainable, and forward-thinking. We are committed to integrating these values into every aspect of our company.”
Guillaume Meyzenq, President and CEO of Salomon.
2024 Highlights – Product Innovation & Circularity
In 2024, Salomon continued to drive innovation in sustainable product design:
-
S/LAB Phantasm 2 Made in France: The brand’s first high-performance road running super shoe produced locally at the ASF 4.0 facility in Ardèche, France. It combines carbon propulsion with locally sourced upper materials, significantly lowering its environmental footprint.
-
Brigade INDEX: The first fully recyclable ski and snowboard helmet, made entirely from recyclable polyolefins after four years of R&D.
-
Carbios collaboration: Led to the world’s first fiber-to-fiber recycled T-shirt, created through an enzymatic textile waste recycling process — a major step forward in material circularity.
Investing in People and Culture
In March 2024, Salomon launched its first Global Employee Engagement Survey, conducted anonymously. The survey scored 7.9 out of 10, surpassing the industry average and offering key insights into internal company culture.
Employee training remained a top priority, with continued development of sustainability education programs. In addition to introductory modules, teams explored deeper topics such as eco-design, responsible communication, CRCS certification, and other strategic themes.
Building a More Inclusive Outdoor Community
In 2024, Salomon advanced its efforts in accessibility by designing and testing prototype prosthetics for snowboarding, alpine skiing, and ski mountaineering. These devices were used throughout the winter season in collaboration with athletes.
To celebrate the initiative, the brand hosted Adaptive Night at its flagship store on the Champs-Élysées in Paris — a well-received evening dedicated to inclusive sport, bringing together athletes, partners, and community members around the latest advancements in inclusive gear and apparel.
The Salomon Foundation also launched a new donation fund supporting international NGOs working to make the outdoor experience more inclusive — reinforcing the brand’s mission to assist mountain professionals whose lives have been deeply impacted by life-changing events.
Looking Ahead: Goals for 2025
The year 2025 marks a pivotal midway point in the “Change Our Future 2030” strategy. Salomon is focused on continuing the implementation of its action plan, tracking progress, refining its roadmap, and aligning its business practices more closely with sustainability goals.
Key priorities for 2025 include:
-
Strengthening the climate strategy and embedding it into the core business model;
