Karpos and the German national skialp team together in preparation for the 2030 Winter Olympics

23 September 2026

A new synergy is born in the world of ski mountaineering. Karpos and the German national ski mountaineering federation, the Deutscher Alpenverein (DAV), have signed a technical collaboration agreement until April 30, 2030. The signing took place during the visit of the DAV executives and athletes to the headquarters of MVC group in Fonzaso, where the delegation closely observed the development of the new race suits, the flagship of the collaboration that will come to light starting from the 2026/2027 World Cup season.

The partnership

Resilience, freedom of movement, safety. Three sacred values in mountaineering of the past, and since then unchanged for Karpos and Deutscher Alpenverein. The new union starts from these three pillars with the aim of expanding a movement, that of ski mountaineering, which has already shown to be on the rise, aiming to move away from the outsider role that has been attributed to it in the past.

The two entities will be linked by a four-year agreement until 2030, when the French Alps will be the backdrop for the second Olympic event in the history of the discipline. On that occasion, the national team will aim for a historic first medal, after narrowly missing the podium in 2026 with Tatjana Paller’s fourth place in the women’s sprint event. Beyond the five-ring event, the German team aims to continue the growth path started internationally, with Paller’s bronze at the 2025 Morgins World Championships and prestigious placements in the specialty rankings of the World Cup. Beyond the top athletes, there is also the growth of future generations, with the ten medals (and third place in the medal table) won by the young Europeans in Shahdag 2026.

The test with the athletes

In addition to the race suit, which since 2007 has dressed six national teams over the years, the junior and senior selection will test the Alagna training line, contributing to the technological development of the products that are now a reference in the market. Thanks to the continuous testing with the athletes, a true hallmark of Karpos, new solutions will be introduced, allowing all enthusiasts to move with increasing lightness and versatility.

The statements

“We are really excited to embark on this new journey alongside the Skimo Team Germany”, comments MVC group’s executive president, Alessio Cremonese, “the DAV is a natural partner for us. We share common values, we have the same maniacal passion for details and continuous improvement in what we do. It’s not just about raising the bar for sports results, but about contributing to the growth of a movement that is increasingly vibrant. Our experience in providing technical equipment to other ski mountaineering national teams, combined with the planning of the Deutscher Alpenverein staff, will allow us to explore new horizons. We look forward to discovering where this journey together will take us”.

“Karpos has great experience in mountain sports and international ski mountaineering”, says Stefan Knirsch, DAV’s managing director of sports and strategy. “For our team, it is a great advantage to be able to collaborate with a partner who understands the needs of our sport and shares our passion for the mountains, innovation, and continuous development. We are committed to offering athletes the best possible conditions for their performances and together giving new impulses to the development of ski mountaineering. We look forward to embarking on this journey together and actively contributing to shaping the future of our sport”.
