The French running chain I-Run has acquired the Belgian franchise of specialized running stores Trakks, including its six physical retail stores and its e-commerce platform. This is I-Run’s first acquisition of stores outside of France.
The financial terms of the operation have not been disclosed.
Founded by Christophe Thomas in 2011 and based in Brussels, Trakks has stores in Etterbeek, Uccle, Charleroi, Rocourt, Jambes, and Waterloo. I-Run, founded in 2007 and based in Toulouse, operates 24 physical stores in the French market, as well as e-commerce platforms in France, Belgium, Spain, Germany, the Netherlands, Portugal, Austria, and Italy.
The integration will allow I-Run to combine its digital platform with Trakks’ already established presence in Belgium. The agreement also stipulates that the founders of Trakks will remain in the company for at least two years to support the transition phase and contribute to further developing the I-Run brand in the Benelux region.
