Trekking, climbing, via ferratas and more: all this and much more at the Activation Days in Riva del Garda (May 16–17), part of the first European Outdoor Week (May 14–19, Riva del Garda).
Two days open to the public and all outdoor sports enthusiasts, where both experts and beginners will have the opportunity to connect directly with key players in the industry. The Village, located at Giardini di Porta Orientale, will host brand booths, with representatives available for product insights and testing.
But the real heart of the Activation Days lies in the experiences: two full days of activities organized by associations and brands, which—together with Alpine Guides and technical partners—will share their expertise and provide equipment for testing to anyone eager to try out the latest seasonal innovations in a real outdoor environment.
Finally, RECCO will be the safety partner of the Activation Days, present at all activities to demonstrate how its rescue reflector technology works.

Citizen Science Bioblitz Walking Workshop
A nature exploration activity combining a guided walk with a naturalist approach, organized in collaboration with The River Collective. A river bioblitz is a citizen science initiative aimed at capturing a snapshot of biodiversity within and around rivers in a specific location and timeframe. It encourages participants to notice details often overlooked, while generating valuable data for science and conservation. Guided by experts, the experience alternates observation moments with insights into the importance of preserving river ecosystems. By the end of the activity, participants will gain a deeper understanding of river species, how human activity has impacted them, and how this influences the way people connect with these environments.

Via ferrata by Skylotec with Versante Sud
An outdoor adventure discovering one of Arco’s most iconic routes: the Colodri via ferrata. Short yet incredibly scenic, it’s perfect for beginners and suitable for children. The route leads to the summit of Monte Colodri, offering breathtaking views over the Sarca Valley and Lake Garda. The activity includes the ascent of the via ferrata with expert Skylotec Alpine Guides from Mmove, in collaboration with publisher Versante Sud.

A scenic trekking experience above Riva del Garda up to the Bastione, through forests and spectacular views over the Upper Garda area. A short but intense route, ideal for testing gear and apparel in real conditions with the professionals from Outdoortest, a platform specialized in outdoor gear buying guides. Participants will learn how to evaluate performance and functionality directly in the field. Partners include Lyofood, a Polish company specializing in high-quality freeze-dried food, providing snacks for a tasty break during the adventure. Climbing experience in falesia – Kids by La Sportiva
A crag designed for those approaching climbing, with easy access and routes specifically bolted for young climbers. The rock features slab climbing with grades from 3a to 6b. Some routes are split into two pitches, allowing children to also gain confidence with abseiling. A trail above the crag allows parents and friends to comfortably watch the activity. La Sportiva sponsors the activity and will provide climbing shoes for all participants.

Climbing experience in falesia by La Sportiva
This climbing activity will take place at the Policromuro crag in Massone, one of the main climbing hubs of the Upper Garda area. The crag features 98 routes ranging from 4a to 8a, with lengths from 8 to 27 meters and east exposure. The program includes a transfer from the village to the crag, followed by a short approach hike. At the end, return to the meeting point and transfer back to the village. La Sportiva sponsors the activity and will provide climbing shoes.

Tagliata del Ponale by KOM – Kulture of Mountain
KOM – Kulture of Mountain lands in Riva del Garda with the Tagliata del Ponale: a panoramic route suspended between Lake Garda and the surrounding mountains. Participants will follow a path carved into the rock, with breathtaking views over the lake and valley. Nordic Walking by Campo Base
A guided Nordic walking session led by Cinzia Corona from Campo Base (specialized outdoor shop by Alessandro Chiappa), an experienced instructor who will guide participants in learning proper technique.
Originally developed in Nordic countries as a training method for Olympic cross-country skiers, Nordic walking is now a discipline suitable for everyone, combining movement, wellbeing, and connection with nature. More than just walking, it’s an experience where movement becomes harmony: breathing syncs with steps, poles mark the rhythm on the ground, the heart rate increases while the mind relaxes.
