According to various international media sources, John Lacy, current CEO of Burton Snowboards, is reportedly preparing to step down from his position, although no official confirmation has been received from the company at this time.
The first to report the rumor was the industry magazine Shop Eat Surf Outdoor, which indicated Lacy’s departure from the brand’s leadership as imminent. The news was later picked up by other publications, including Snowboarder Magazine, WWD, and Outdoor Industry Compass, all citing “sources familiar with the matter.”
Lacy has been serving as CEO of Burton since February 2020, but has been with the company for 29 years. Prior to joining, he held executive positions in the consumer goods and retail sectors, developing expertise in brand management and operational strategies. It is reported that Donna Carpenter, founder of Burton Snowboards, is ready to take on a more active role in the company’s leadership following Lacy’s potential departure. However, no official details have been released regarding a possible succession plan.
