Brooks Running: sales up 17% in the third quarter

4 Novembre 2024

Brooks Running closed the third quarter with a 17% increase in sales, marking its ninth consecutive quarter of year-over-year growth. All regions and channels recorded double-digit gains, confirming the brand’s strength in the performance running segment.

Growth was driven primarily by international markets: year-to-date sales rose 23% in the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East, and Africa) and 82% in Asia Pacific and Latin America compared to the previous year.

In the United States, according to Circana data, the adult performance running shoe category grew 13%, and Brooks captured the #1 market share position in national retail, with three of the six best-selling models in the segment.

In Europe, Brooks outpaced average market growth, posting +15% in France and +29% in Germany, where it now shares the #1 position in the performance segment.

According to a global survey by Running USA, Brooks also continues to hold the top spot as runners’ preferred shoe brand for both training and racing, with over 20% of preferences in each category.

“Every day, our team thinks about how to improve the runner’s experience – from movement to feel to expectations of our products,”  said Dan Sheridan, ceo of Brooks Running. “Even in an uncertain economic environment, more people around the world are running and choosing an active lifestyle, and Brooks is at the heart of their health and wellness goals.”

Products and initiatives

During the quarter, Brooks launched five new models across three key categories – cushioning, trail, and speed – contributing to the 17% growth. Core models continue to perform strongly: Adrenaline GTS up 20% and Glycerin up 29%, while full-price sales increased 21%.

The lifestyle line also gained momentum with the Brooks x RSVP Gallery Caldera 8, created in collaboration with designer Don C, and the limited-edition runDisney Ghost 17 Halloween, which sold out during the Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend.

Events and ambassadors

In Q3, Brooks hosted a series of global experiences, including the House of Mountains at Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc, the Hyperion Houseboat at the Sydney Marathon, and Hyperion Houses at the Tokyo and Berlin Marathons. The brand also made its debut as the official sponsor of the AJ Bell Great North Run in the UK — the world’s largest half marathon, with over 60,000 participants.

On the competitive front, athlete Emily Infeld won the 10,000m title at the US Outdoor Championships, while at the UTMB in Courmayeur, Brooks was the most represented brand in the men’s top 10. At the World Athletics Championships, Brooks sponsored three U.S. marathoners — Erika Kemp, Jess McClain, and Susanna Sullivan — with two finishing in the top 10.
